All individuals have access to their local Job Center and the SWWDB Virtual Job Center, www.jobcenter.org, and to core employment-related services. Available services include access to information about job vacancies, career options, student financial aid, and instructions on how to conduct a job search, write a resume, or interview with an employer.
SWWDB tries to provide individuals seeking assistance through WIA a large degree of freedom and flexibility in selecting the training program that best fits their personal and career needs. As such, it is important that customers receive accurate information regarding the performance records of all training providers eligible to conduct WIA training.
Since the goal of the Workforce Investment Act is to obtain gainful employment, providers must demonstrate, through performance data, that completion of the certified program actually leads to increased employment opportunities. Due to economic conditions, resources available and other factors, SWWDB may limit the number of training options available and restrict enrollment to core programs.
