Employment and Training Specialist

The Southwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board (SWWDB), located in Platteville, WI, is seeking applications for the position of Employment and Training Specialist. This position will provide workforce development services and support for programs that deliver specialized assistance throughout the Workforce Development Area (WDA), which includes Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland and Rock counties.

Primary functions relate to participant instruction in partnership with the Prairie du Chien Correctional Institution, case management and career planning, and outreach activities in SW Wisconsin. This position will implement/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously; conduct group trainings, orientations and presentations; and coordinate the delivery of services to develop the workforce in the region.

A qualified individual must be able to manage and obtain direction/ guidance from multiple individuals and sources. Prior experience in case management, promotion and instruction is important; however, a solid commitment to the delivery of individualized assistance in a compassionate, collaborative, thorough and objective manner is key.
