Reentry Program Assistant

The Reentry Program Assistant provides administrative and programmatic support for SWWDB’s reentry projects and staff. Our programming provides pre-release and post-release services to individuals currently incarcerated in a state, county, or local facility. Pre-release services are provided between 20 to 180 days prior to release and will prepare individuals for the return to their communities. Pre-release services include job preparation, developing individual service plans that identify barriers to employment and re-entry, career exploration and planning, and assistance with linking inmates to the resources required to help them transition back to their communities. This position will be located out SWWDB’s Rock County Office.

Our reentry projects seek to break the cycle of recidivism by linking participants to the workforce system early, while still in the institution, and then immediately upon reentry into the community to help reduce the risk of recidivism, reduce the gaps in service delivery, and increase access to re-entry services.

  • In coordination with Reentry Coaches, assist participants with achieving employment and training goals, including provision of support services, co-enrollment in other workforce programming, referrals to community resources, and soft skill development and job referrals.
  • Maintain accurate hard-copy and electronic participant records and data in customer databases.
  • Assist Special Projects Supervisor with quarterly and other DOL reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to the Special Projects Supervisor and SWWDB Leadership
  • Other Duties as assigned.
