Richland County Secretary
Under the direction of the Business & Financial Services Manager, this Secretary position will ensure adequate coverage at our receptionist desk and assist with other programmatic support as needed. The Secretary must be detail-oriented, dependable, and able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
This part time,limited time employment position is expected to work up to 28 hours per week for 6 months with the possibility of an extension. The hourly rate is $17.50 per hour.

Essential Duties:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs reception duties at the Main Front Desk including; greeting clients and visitors, answering telephones and routing to correct staff, scheduling appointments, delivering messages and documents, accepting payments and writing receipts, and distributing information regarding agency programs and services.
- Performs clerical support duties including; typing and copying documents and reports, scanning, filing, data entry, assembling client files, and other support type activities for the agency as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensures the reception desks are sufficiently staffed to accommodate full-time staff lunch breaks and to accommodate other time off requests submitted by full-time employees. Work hours would be Monday-Friday from 11:15 am-4:45pm (up to 28 hours per week).
- Must be able to participate in a team workplace environment and work well with others.
- Must perform duties and responsibilities in a professional, courteous manner.
- Must comply with HIPAA regulations. On-site HIPAA training will be offered.
- Must comply with all pertinent policies and procedures of Richland County Health and Human Services.
Minimum Training and Experience
High school diploma, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities with at least two years experience in reception work or customer service.
Working knowledge of computers, computer programs, typing, and data entry required. Must also be able to operate office equipment, such as a copier and fax machine.
Valid driver’s license and access to automobile required for local driving. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
